Exhibition Info:
Our satirical exhibition invites you to explore British drinking culture and the cult of gin through a cross-referencing of the 18th century Gin Craze with 21st century gin culture. We aim to reimagine the Gin Craze in a humorous light, observing the satirical etchings made at the time, particularly William Hogarth’s famous etching Gin Lane, 1750-51, whilst combining kitsch imagery and text from objects such as the novelty gin glass and modern-day greetings cards.
